Fans of strategy card gaming will have another game based on the Magic: The Gathering universe soon. Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) and Wizards of the Coast have announced their collaboration for Magic: The Gathering – Tactics. It's an online, turn-based strategy game. Wizards of the Coast recently worked with game developer Stainless Games on an Xbox LIVE Arcade version of Magic: The Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers. Wizards of the Coast also worked with Sony Computer Entertainment on The Eye of Judgment, the augmented reality card strategy game that worked with the PlayStation Eye. Sony Online Entertainment promises some unique gameplay for their collaboration with Wizards of the Coast for this version of Magic: The Gathering. “By collaborating with Wizards of the Coast, we’re able to combine the strengths of both companies to develop an innovative, online, 3D game based on an extremely popular IP,” said John Smedley, president, Sony Online Entertainment. “We’re going to be taking the Magic: The Gathering Multiverse places players have never seen.” Details from Sony Online Entertainment: Watch for Magic: The Gathering - Tactics to arrive for the PC first in 2010 and then later for the PlayStation 3.
