THQ Wireless has announced the release of Star Wars: Trench Run for the iPhone and iPod touch. You'll take control of an X-Wing during one of the most pivotal moments in the Star Wars film series. Using the accelerometer of your iPhone or iPod touch, you'll fight off TIE Fighters while dodging obstacles in your path to go for the ultimate kill: the Death Star.
Star Wars: Trench Run has been created by game developer Infrared5. The game also features movie clips from Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope from Lucasfilm Ltd. The Star Wars: Trench Run game is now available, here at the App Store for $4.99.

Mission:
Use the Force to destroy the Death Star before it can fire upon the small Rebel base on Yavin’s jungle moon. As part of the Rebel Alliance’s Red Squadron, players dogfight with TIE fighters above the Death Star’s surface, dodging obstacles and laser-fire as they maneuver into position to target a small thermal exhaust port the size of a womp rat. If successful, a direct hit will cause a chain reaction that will destroy the Death Star, thus saving the Rebel base from impending doom.
