Zombies are preparing to take over the MMO world, with the help of a game development studio by the name of Undead Labs. Undead Labs is a new game developer from Seattle that is creating a "MMOZ," that's for Massively Multiplayer Online Zombie game. For the first bits of information on it, there are a couple of unique things. First the obvious Zombie theme in MMO gaming, a place typically reserved for fantasy RPGs (MMORPG). The other unique thing is that it is planned for a gaming console release.

Here are the details from today's announcement by Undead Labs:
"Undead Labs' sole focus will be to create the definitive massively multiplayer online zombie game (MMOZ) for console gamers. Nothing screams funny quite like wading into a group of rotting zombies with a lawn chair and a box of sharpened HB pencils, and nothing says fun quite like doing it with your friends, whether online or on your sofa. Undead Labs is committed to bringing to life an MMO loaded with action, humour and, of course, a lot of zombies, because the world doesn’t any need more dragons."

Leading out Undead Labs is Jeff Strain, who is a gaming industry veteran on Blizzard games like Diablo, StarCraft and founder of the initial team who worked on World of Warcraft. Jeff also worked on ArenaNet, GuildWars, and at NCsoft. So you know Undead Labs means serious business in a not-so-serious zombie infested MMO. There's still much to learn about the game, but you can keep a lookout at UndeadLabs.com for more.

Just one question, do they use in-game currency for this game as well? Just like wow gold . Just curious if a game like this would need currencies as well. :)
