Ubisoft has announced that Assassin's Creed II has sold 1.6 million copies in its first week of release worldwide. This number is not surprising due to the critical reception and internet buzz surrounding the November 17th release. If you compare these numbers to the previous Assassin's Creed game release, Assassin's Creed II is up 32% in sales. This is very promising for Ubisoft, who spares no expense on its AAA titles and it also shows that gamers throughout the world are supporting the game with their wallets. I am currently playing through Assassin's Creed II and loving every minute of it. The improvements since the first game are completely apparent and well implemented. I can't wait to finish it and see any hints about the next iteration of the series. There are rumors, but nothing concrete. It will be interesting to see how Assassin's Creed II compares to Left 4 Dead 2 or Modern Warfare 2, but I hope we hear more about the next version of the game soon. We will surely pass it on to you when we hear it. See more on Assassin's Creed II here at the official website. Assassin's Creed II is now available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and soon for the PC.
