The Xbox Live Dashboard is due to receive an update in the coming week. A new feature pointed out by Gamevideos.com shows that you can have two gamer pics now. You have the standard graphic one, provided by publishers. The second gamer pic is your "personal picture," which will only be viewable by people on your friends list. Your personal picture can be captured via the upcoming Xbox Live Vision Camera. You can also add a picture as an attachment to messages you send to friends. Another feature related to your friends list is the "idle" function, similar to AIM's idle message, when someone is away from their Xbox 360 for a while.
