A technology investment firm, Francisco Partners, will be granting game development house Foundation 9 Entertainment up to $150 million "over the next few years."
From Next-Gen: Brian Ruder, a principal with Francisco Partners, said, "Foundation 9's breadth of experience across all platforms and age groups, paired with its innovative and cost-effective approach to launching original properties, place it in a unique position within the videogame industry. We plan to work actively with management to continue growing this business in scale and creativity." Foundation 9 Entertainment owns Death Jr's game developers Backbone Charlottetown. "Death Jr. 2" is in the works for the Sony PSP and "Death, Jr. and the Science Fair of Doom" is coming for the Nintendo DS from game publisher Konami.
