Microsoft's Upcoming 10th edition of "Flight Simulator" will be using NAVTEQ map data to bring "highly accurate map data as a real-world foundation of street level detail."
The data that NAVTEQ will be bringing: - Bringing the world to life, as the data integrates and automatically generates ground vehicle traffic, railway simulation and water-based cargo and leisure ships (including types of vehicles, traffic congestion, accidents, direction of travel); - Displaying the size of streets (including approximate number of lanes), street names, bridges, and tunnels. "Flight Simulator X" will offer online game play where you can be a pilot, co-pilot or air-traffic control and communicate in real-time via headsets. This will be the first release of the "Flight Simulator" series to offer structured game play with more than 55 missions. Microsoft's "Flight Simulator X" is scheduled for release on PCs this holiday season, 2006. Read more about Flight Simulator X here.
