New Super Mario Bros. Wii review
New Super Mario Bros. Wii is a true testament to the saying, "if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it." The latest platformer from Nintendo, combines various elements from the different games within the Mario universe to create a unique yet familiar game. The level design has advanced a bit, making games challenging for veterans, yet remaining accessible to a young audience. This game definitely bridges the gap for all ages and gamer types.

Players will be thrust into your usual Mario Bros. storyline, with the Princess being captured, leading the Mario Bros. to the rescue. In this story, fans of Super Mario Bros. 3 will instantly recognize the Koopa Kids, who re-emerge as the antagonists. The setup of the world layout and gameplay is a definite throwback to Mario games. Evidently, in title the game is the direct "sequel" (if you may) to the Nintendo DS New Super Mario Bros. game. As far as gameplay and layout are concerned, the title hearkens back to Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World.
The biggest feature for the New Super Mario Bros. Wii game is multiplayer. And not in the sense most people expect, but actually everyone playing simultaneously. This inclusion to the series adds for some interesting but very enjoyable gaming. Frenetic mayhem may be the first thing that comes to mind, and it does happen, but always remains fun. The players control Mario, Luigi and two different Toad characters.

Other additions to the game include a Helicopter suit with a propeller cap for in-game flight. The cap is obvious homage to the Raccoon suit in Mario Bros. 3, only the player shakes the Wii Remote to be catapulted airborne. There is also the Snow flower which is the same as the Fireball suit, but it freezes enemies. The last new suit in the mix is the Penguin suit. The suit allows better ground control on ice levels, superb swimming underwater and sliding on the characters’ belly to pummel enemies.
Nintendo has crafted a game that will keep players coming back for more. From the new elements to freshen up gameplay to the familiar design, this game will please all crowds. So sit back and enjoy the nostalgia with a bit of chaos. New Super Mario Bros. Wii is worth your attention.
