GAME British Academy Video Games Awards winners announced

Video game producers and creators received recognition in London today. The winners of the GAME British Academy Video Games Awards have been announced. Here are the video games that went away with the distinguished BAFTA mask awards:

Best Game – Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)
GAME Award of 2008 (people’s choice award)- Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)
Gameplay, Story & Character – Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)
Casual game category – Boom Blox (Wii)
Use of Audio and Original Score – Dead Space (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)
Artistic Achievement – LittleBigPlanet (PS3)
Technical Achievement – Spore (PC, Mac)
Strategy game – Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)
Sport game – Race Driver: GRID (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)
Multiplayer game – Left 4 Dead (Xbox 360, PC)
Action and Adventure game – Fable II (Xbox 360)
Handheld game – Professor Layton and the Curious Village (Nintendo DS)
BAFTA Ones To Watch Award – Boro-Toro (DarkMatter Designs – university graduates competition)

The Academy’s Fellowship went to Nolan Bushnell, founder of Atari and known for his contributions to the video game industry.
