Capcom has announced a complete new Mega Man gaming experience is coming, Mega Man Universe. The new Mega Man game is headed to the PS3′s PlayStation Network and Xbox 360′s Xbox LIVE Arcade. This time around, expect something completely different, as the Mega Man Universe teaser trailer drops hints on many forms of Mega Man and even shows some Street Fighter and Ghouls & Ghosts.
Watch the Mega Man Universe trailer below.
“We are thrilled to finally be able to announce Mega Man Universe,” said Kenji Inafune, Head of Research and Development Management for Capcom Entertainment. “This game will break the mold and challenge the conventional wisdom of what a Mega Man game can be. When fans finally get to see it, I believe they’ll envision their most far-out Mega Man dreams coming true.”
The trailer was proudly produced by i am 8-bit Productions, who you probably (and should) know from the many gaming art events and books, and Buddy System Studios, who specializes in stop-motion animation. Jon M. Gibson, founder of i am 8-bit Productions, said "Yes, those are fully sculpted, meticulously detailed physical beings animating on screen. It’s a method rarely employed these days, with CG having a stranglehold on the industry." The Mega Man Universe trailer took four months and involved over 50 crew members to complete. So sit back and enjoy it, it’s not often the videogame world gets a teaser trailer like this.
