Lead and Gold: Gangs of the West is a new third person team-based shooter being developed by FatShark. Featuring a western setting and game modes that use the Old West setting and four distinct character classes, Lead and Gold looks promising. Just like many other online shooters, there will be a persistent rewards system, interestingly called Synergy. Currently the game is targeted for a Q1 2010 release on "multiple platforms." That doesn’t really help us out to figure it out, but I would assume Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

If you take one part Team Fortress 2 and part Old West, you will end up with something just like Lead and Gold: Gangs of the West. As for the developer, FatShark AB, I checked out their website to find that they worked on Terminator Salvation. It doesn’t necessarily help their resume, but that was a rushed movie tie-in game by a dying developer, GRIN. I am hopeful that they will come through with a fun, addictive online shooter. Look for a preview and review when the game gets closer to release.
