Game Developers Conference 2009

Performance Design Products (PSP) has announced a new Xbox 360 motion controller and even a Nintendo DS motion/sound/light stylus controller. The Xbox 360 motion controller, the Gametrak Freedom, has clearly changed its look to be more along the lines of the Xbox 360′s design (see previous design here).
Here’s what PDP said on the Gametrak Freedom:
"Unlike other motion sensing gaming systems, Gametrak Freedom does not rely on the gamer pointing a controller at the screen, nor does it restrict the gamer to limited movements. The system accurately tracks the true 3D position and precise movements of up to four players anywhere within a given environment. This technology provides players with total control and unrivaled game play opportunities."
Another unusual and unique product revealed by PDP for the Nintendo DS is the SmartStylus. The oversized DS stylus has vibration feedback, lights, sound and motion control support. An article at TechRadar says PDP is waiting on the device’s approval from Nintendo. As you can see from the SmartStylus picture below, the SmartStylus appears to use the GBA cartridge slot, something that isn’t in the upcoming Nintendo DSi hardware.
