Deep Silver has released a new trailer for the upcoming Xbox 360 and PC role-playing game, Risen. This trailer features some scenery, combat, creatures, and magic, with a musical backdrop from the symphonic/gothic metal band, Nightwish. Nightwish’s “The Poet and the Pendulum” is featured in the video, which you can see and hear below. It’s great to see a game publisher and developer using some of the rich audio landscapes of symphonic goth music, which works as a great accompaniment to role-playing games. Hopefully other RPGs will catch-on and pickup bands like Within Temptation, Delain, and Sirenia to name a few.
