Epic Games today announced the Phase 3 Winners of the $1 Million Intel Make Something Unreal Contest. The contest has been ongoing and is running through 4 phases. The competition encourages Mod Authors (or “Modification”) to come up with some creative Mods for the Unreal Tournament 3 PC game. Epic Games says “over $100,000 in cash and hardware prizes will be distributed to mod authors who have placed first through fifth place in Phase 3 contest categories.” Congratulations to the winners, who you can see here.

“We’re amazed by the high quality and variety of the latest round of UT3 mods,” said Mark Rein, vice president of Epic Games, Inc. “The bar for gameplay and visuals is raised with each phase of the contest, and it’s apparent that the Unreal mod teams have spent a tremendous amount of time honing their projects. There’s everything from puzzle games to platformers to machinima, and we can’t thank these talented developers enough for their hard work.”

“The Phase 3 entries in the $1 Million Intel Make Something Unreal Contest demonstrate tremendous innovation and creativity,” said Elliot Garbus, vice president Intel Software and Services Group, general manager Visual Computing Software Division.
