SEGA and Nintendo have announced that Mario and Sonic will be reuniting once again
to compete for the Olympic Winter Games. Now you can play as Mario or Sonic on
Canadian soil as you compete for gold on events such as Alpine Skiing and Speed
Skating. More events have been planned, but nothing has been announced yet
“We are extremely happy to again team up with Nintendo and ISM on what
promises to be another global success.” Says Naoya Tsurumi, CEO, SEGA of
America and SEGA Europe. “Sonic will partner with Mario once more beneath
the spotlight of the legendary Olympic Games. Together they will face new athletic
challenges that will provide gamers with more of the exciting experiences unique
to this series.”
The Nintendo Wii version of the game will be compatible with the Wii Balance
Board to provide gamers with a more immersive gaming experience. Expect this
game to hit store shelves in late 2009 for both the Nintendo DS and the Nintendo
Wii.
