Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector’s Edition rumored to be out of production

It sounds like the Wii’s Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector’s Edition may truly be a limited edition bundle. An inquiry from a gaming blogger, coffeewithgames.blogspot.com, to Nintendo asked why Amazon.com no longer listed availability of a new Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector’s Edition. Below is the question and response from Nintendo:

"The question in one email was, "Amazon.com hasn’t had Metroid Prime: Trilogy in stock for several weeks. Is Metroid Prime: Trilogy still being published, or has production for the game stopped?"

The response I received from Nintendo was, "Unfortunately, Metroid Prime Trilogy is no longer being shipped.  Having said that, you may be able to find what you seek through the secondhand video game market."

Nintendo hasn’t made an official announcement on this. Amazon.com did offer the Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector’s Edition at a reduced price during the Holiday season and may have sold out of their stock. Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector’s Edition may be out of stock on Amazon.com, but it is currently available from GameStop.com and Walmart.com. You’ve been warned in advance, so take advantage of getting the best Collector’s Edition for the Wii while it is available.

Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector’s Edition was originally released on August 24, 2009 for the Wii. Visit the official website at metroid.com.
