Need for Speed: NITRO coming to Wii and DS November 17th

Need for Speed: NITRO is one of the three new Need for Speed games that will be coming soon. This one is geared more to the casual market for the Wii and DS gaming platforms. Developed at EA Montreal, the inclusion of the police as a part of the gameplay is welcome in a series that has been declining in quality for years. With an over the top art style and motion controls, it could sell well on brand recognition, but we hope that EA’s new-found dedication to the Need for Speed series will pay dividends. There is no mention of Wii MotionPlus control support. The other two games, Need for Speed Online and Need for Speed Shift are also being pushed by EA, but no release dates have been announced.

The timing of this release shows that EA really is going to push this game for the Holiday season. Unfortunately, this may get more marketing and backing then the previously announced The Saboteur. This may be a great business move for EA because I foresee this game easily selling a million copies, but the more hardcore gamers may be missing out on a game like The Saboteur.
