This year’s Black Friday Playstation 3 console sales saw a 245% increase from last year’s Black Friday sales. That’s the word from Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA). It shouldn’t be much of a surprise since the cost of the Playstation 3 system has come down significantly, while the storage space and bundled goods has increased since the PS3′s debut last year. The 60GB PS3 this time last year was $599. Now, you can get a 80GB PS3 with Motorstorm and five free Blu-ray movies for $499 or a 40GB PS3 with 6 Blu-ray movies for $399.

From SCEA:

PLAYSTATION 3 hardware unit sales increased by 245% when compared to Black Friday sales last year.

**Since November 2nd, and the availability of both the 40GB and 80GB PS3 models, PS3 hardware unit sales have increased by 298%.
**PSP (PlayStation Portable) hardware unit sales increased by 136% when compared to previous week sales.
**PlayStation 2 hardware unit sales increased by 287% when compared to previous week sales.”
