The US site for checking to see if a PS1 or PS2 game is compatible on your PS3 has launched. The US Playstation 3 Backwards Compatibility site can be seen here. Select if you have a 60 GB or 80 GB PS3 (20 GB PS3s are excluded!), then enter the game you’d like to check backwards compatibility on. For example, just type in “God of War” and you can compare the 60GB with the 80GB and see what the lack of the PS2 hardware on the 80GB PS3 will give you. Updates will be distributed through the Playstation Network in the future, so if you ever download one of those mysterious System Updates where nothing appears to have changed, it could have just been a PS1/PS2 compatibility update!
