Job listings can sometimes hint at what’s to come, and this rumor is a juicy one. QJ has found a job posting on us.playstation.com, which shows that developers at Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) Santa Monica are looking for an “online gameplay programmer.”

The job posting reads:
“Online GamePlay Programmer

Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) Santa Monica is seeking an online gameplay
programmer to join the team behind the critically acclaimed AAA titles “God of War” and “God of War II.”

It’s a rumor for now, as details on God of War III have not been announced. Multiplayer or co-op gameplay would be new to the God of War series. God of War III is estimated for March 2009 release.
