Sony Computer Entertainment America confirmed earlier this week that a portable version of LittleBigPlanet is headed to the Sony PlayStation Portable. A custom tailored version of LittleBigPlanet is being built for the portable platform from the ground up. Sony’s development studio in Cambridge, England will be working on it, while LittleBigPlanet creators MediaMolecule will continue to support the PLAYSTATION 3 content of LittleBigPlanet.

From SCEA:
"Developed in conjunction with MediaMolecule, the critically acclaimed game LittleBigPlanet makes its way to the PSP, offering new SackBoy™ adventures with the same play, create, share experience for gamers on-the-go, in addition to brand new levels and environments specifically created for the platform."

That’s all the information there is for now on LittleBigPlanet for the PSP. No screenshots or release date just yet (but sometime in 2009). Hopefully there will be some kind of crossover support for the PLAYSTATION 3 content of LittleBigPlanet.
