Soulcalibur will finally be making it’s portable debut on the PSP. It’s titled Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny. The Sony PlayStation Blog has an interview with Director Noriyuki Hiyama (see below or here on the PlayStation Blog) on creating the PSP release of Soulcalibur. There are a few characters shown in screenshots throughout the video interview (no gameplay footage, however). You’ll recognize them from last year’s Soulcalibur IV released for home game systems. There’s also the brief mention of a new character, with more likely to be announced. Ad-hoc (local) multiplayer was confirmed, but nothing on the possibility of online multiplayer was announced. As with any Soulcalibur game, expect to find customization features, various gameplay modes, and breakable armor!

Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny is estimated for a Summer 2009 release, with more of the game to be shown at E3 in June. Hope we can catch it there!
