Square Enix has announced the launch of the latest in the classic side-scrolling shooter series, Thexder Neo. It’s Astrolog: Year 089 and you are the last resort, the mecha known as Thexder, to salvage the weapons platform Laevina. The threat is Nedium, an asteroid of unknown origin. In this PSP side-scrolling shooter you find yourself marooned upon the asteroid.
Thexder was originally a PC game released in 1985, and Square Enix has revamped the graphics and added new modes to boot. Thexder is almost R-Type meets Gundam meets Street Fighter 2010, which is a potent mixture for some serious gaming. Square Enix is providing a novice mode, 6-player online races and all new features in Thexder Neo.
