SEGA is unleashing Aliens and Predators in Sony’s PlayStation Home today. Starting today, and SEGA notes for a limited time, you can purchase complete PS Home avatar costumes and items for your PlayStation Home space. The stuff is inspired from SEGA’s recently released Aliens vs. Predator game. Stop by the PlayStation Home Mall Space to purchase things like Aliens, Predator and Marine outfits along with wall art, mini-statues and facehuggers (don’t worry, they’re safely packed in a tube).
See screens of some of the content you can get here.
On an Aliens vs. Predator note, if you purchased the Aliens vs. Predator Hunter Edition and received a broken Facehugger, SEGA has been shipping free replacements. If you need to request a replacement, visit www.sega.com/facehugger.

Aliens vs. Predator players will soon be able to download the first bit of downloadable content soon. The Swarm Map Pack will be available on Thursday, March 18, 2010. You’ll be able to purchase it from the Xbox 360′s Xbox LIVE Marketplace (560 Microsoft Points), the PlayStation 3′s PlayStation Network ($6.99) or on the PC from Steam ($6.99). These are the four maps that were previously exclusive to the Aliens vs. Predator Hunter Edition.
Here are the details from SEGA on the four new map types included in the AvP Swarm Map Pack:
Two new multiplayer maps are for six different modes (Deathmatch, Predator Hunt, Infestation, Species Deathmatch, Mixed Species Deathmatch and Domination):
Docks: The caustic alkali waters of BG-386 put an end to Weyland-Yutani’s planned shipping activities. But this dockyard soon became an historic battleground.
Machine: As well as processing exotic ores, the BG-386 Refinery provided electrical power to the colonists at Freya’s Prospect. The lights may still be on, but nobody’s home. Yet.
Two new Survivor maps in which up to four Marines battle to stay alive against increasing swarms of Aliens:
Outpost: The site of the original Weyland-Yutani colony on BG-386 was abandoned, and soon reclaimed by the planet’s voracious jungle plant life. It is now the perfect hunting ground for all manner of wildlife.
Hive: Deep in the heart of the Freya’s Prospect Refinery lays the Xenomorph Hive. Beware all who enter here.

Today SEGA will simultaneously release a multiplayer demo of Aliens vs. Predator, for the PlayStation 3 (via PSN), Xbox 360 (via Xbox LIVE) and PC (via Steam). The first-person shooter demo is set on the map "Refinery" in the standard deathmatch mode. Aliens vs. Predator features seven multiplayer maps, and three race classes for players to choose from.
“With the demo now gamers can get to grips with each of the three iconic species so they can hone their skills and be ready for when the game launches and battle commences,” said Jason Kingsley, CEO and Creative Director of Rebellion.
The colonial marine, the Predator and the Alien, your three species to select from, will also have intertwining single-player campaigns. Aliens vs Predator is set to be released on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on February 16th in America and February 19th in Europe. A "Hunter Edition" will also be available.
