A slip-up on the Xbox 360 dashboard jumps the gun (or chainsaw) on the Gears of War 3 announcement, thanks in part to a rescheduling of Cliff Bleszinski’s appearance on Jimmy Fallon. Cliff Bleszinski was scheduled to make an appearance on the late night show to reveal what was in the works from Epic Games, but was bumped off the Thursday night appearance thanks to a last-minute scheduling of Justin Bieber. Gears of War 3 was no doubt to be a part of that showing, as someone on Xbox LIVE forgot to postpone the announcement on the Xbox 360 Dashboard Spotlight. It has already been taken down, but not before many could capture it (see various sources: TVG, Joystiq, Kotaku).

Now that we know Gears of War 3 is estimated for a April 2011 release (did you ever really doubt it was coming?), we just have to wait for the reveal from Epic Games and Cliff Bleszinski when he makes the appearance on Jimmy Fallon on Monday. Bieber and Microsoft may have stolen some of Cliff’s thunder, but I’m sure he’ll be packing Gears of War heat. Keep a lookout on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days gets a release date of August 24, 2010 for North America and August 27th for Europe. The game is set to breakout an action-packed summer for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC platforms.
