Telltale Games has announced the game platforms for their upcoming release, Back To The Future: The Game. Watch for it on the PC and Mac first, then eventually on the PlayStation 3 and iPad devices.  For those who can’t wait to get their hands on the game, Telltale Games has announced some great pre-order bonuses.

Pre-order Back To The Future: The Game for the following:

  • Telltale Games critically acclaimed Puzzle Agent – $9.95 value, available for download immediately after placing order.
  • For each pre-order of the series on PC and Mac from telltalegames.com, the company will donate $1.00 to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
  • Inclusion in special pre-release insider forum at Telltale site – to chat with the team creating the game throughout the process.

Back to the Future - 25th Anniversary Blu-rayThese are some great bonuses and you could even help to cure Parkinson’s disease.  No word on an exact release date, but Telltale Games has announced it will come out shortly after the Back to the Future: 25th Anniversary Trilogy, which is now available on Blu-ray and DVD. The PC & Mac version of Back To The Future: The Game is estimated for release during December 2010, while the PlayStation 3 and iPad release “will be announced at a later date.” Just like prior game releases from Telltale Games, an episode will be available about once a month.

James Cameron’s Avatar is premiering on both Blu-ray and DVD this week. Fans eager to get more of Avatar, since the special edition Blu-ray/DVD won’t be out until later this year, may want to check out the game at a lower price. Amazon.com is offering the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii versions of the game for $19.99. Avatar: The Game is typically around $29.99 to $39.99 at retail.

Today Halo Legends is available on Blu-ray, DVD (single disc and two-disc edition). Halo Legends features eight animated shorts, each running about 10-17 minutes in length. There is also a wealth of information on the Halo franchise, with additional material available in the Halo Legends Blu-ray Edition and Two-Disc Special Edition DVD. Descend into the nine circles of Hell, beginning today. Dante’s Inferno is now available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and soon on the PSP. The game comes from EA’s internal studio, Visceral Games (Dead Space series) and is an adaptation of the first book of Dante Alighieri’s poem, The Divine Comedy

You can catch a live developer chat today, starting at 2pm PST (5pm EST). Here are the details from EA:
"To help celebrate the release of Dante’s Inferno, join the Dante’s dev team and other fans like you for a CoverItLive chat event on launch day, this Tuesday, February 9th. Fans can chat live with the Dante’s production team from 2-5pm PST! 

The event schedule is as follows: 

2-2:45 = Vince Napoli, Combat Designer
2:45-3:30 = Zach Mumbach, Assistant Producer
3:30-4:15 = Jonathan Knight, EP
4:15-5 = Justin Lambros, Producer"

EA and Visceral Games also have planned an upcoming line-up of downloadable content (DLC) for Dante’s Inferno, to be released over the next few months. This will encourage you to keep Dante’s Inferno in your collection of games. Downloadable content packs will include "souls, skins, relics and magics." The "Dark Forest" DLC will be released in March, which is a prequel with "new enemies, puzzles and relics." April will bring the "Trials of St. Lucia" DLC, an expansion to the game which includes many features, such as "co-operative multiplayer mode, a new playable character, and an in-game combat editor." The combat editor will allow you to create custom combat trials and share them online.

Warner Home Video has announced the release date for Halo Legends, which is set for February 9, 2010. Halo Legends is a collection of animated shorts based on the Halo game franchise. It will be available on both Blu-ray (ironically for Xbox 360 gamers) and DVD formats (in a single-disc edition or two-disc edition). Individual animated shorts from Halo Legends will also be available from On Demand and Digital Download. If you’re looking to get an even richer understanding and experience of the Halo universe beyond the games, you should check out this collection of stylized animated shorts.

Seven animated shorts (one with 2 episodes) are included on Halo Legends, which is produced by 343 Industries. Each episode ranges from 10-17 minutes in length. Some are presented in anime-style, others in CG. Here’s a rundown of the extra content that you will find in the Blu-ray and Two-Disc Edition:
