Borderlands ROBOLUTION!

Ah, proving it’s always better when officially announced, 2K Games and Gearbox Software deliver some great news and artwork on the next downloadable expansion for Borderlands.  “Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution” is the name of the fourth Borderlands DLC expansion. It continues the wasteland of fun with everyone’s favorite Borderlands personality, the Claptrap. In the DLC, there will be over 20 new missions, with 10 new skill points, 3 new backpack slots, and new loot to be found. And a radical Claptrap revolution and Ninja Assassin to be contained.

Here are the details on what you can expect from 2K Games and Gearbox Software:
“Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution invites single-player and co-op fans back to try to suppress a deadly Claptrap revolution using one of four infamous vault hunters. The foursome find themselves caught in the crosshairs of a deadly civil war between the Hyperion Corporation’s well-armed armadas and the ever-amassing army of homicidal Claptraps led by one of the most eagerly awaited characters in the franchise’s history – the cunning Ninja Assassin.  As vault hunters, players must put aside their past differences with the Hyperion Corporation, namely the organization’s repeated attempts to wipe them from existence. For a hefty payday, they will join forces to help beat down the mechanical uprising and thwart the dastardly kung-fu expert, the Claptrap known only as Ninja Assassin.”

Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution will be available for purchase and download on the Xbox 360 (800 Microsoft Points, $10), PlayStation 3 ($9.99) and PC ($9.99) in September 2010.

See screenshots and artwork from Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution here. For more details on Borderlands, visit  www.borderlandsthegame.com. Borderlands is a must play on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC and even OnLive.

To those of you that don’t have Xbox LIVE or want to own a hard copy edition of the Borderlands downloadable content, I have some great news for you. 2K Games have announced that the Borderlands Double Game Add-On Retail Pack will be available from stores in North America on April 6th, 2010. The double pack will feature The Zombie Island of Dr.Ned along with Mad Moxxi’s Underome Riot for $19.99.

Here is more information on the content included, from 2K Games:

"The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned
-The Jakobs Corporation’s little haven away from the badlands of Borderlands promises a relaxing experience for all visitors. All rumors of mutant skags, half eaten torsos and decaying zombies are probably false, most likely. But, in the case they turn out to be true, we recommend purchasing firearms from conveniently located Jakobs Brand Vending Machines. Please aim for the head.
– Dozens of new missions to explore and loot – hours of new single and multiplayer gameplay.
– New enemy types to blast away and dismember, but watch out, those disassembled parts can still tear you apart…muhahahaha!

Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot
- We heard some of you noisy braggarts saying that Borderlands was too easy. So, in an effort to challenge you so-called gaming experts, 2K Games and Gearbox proudly present Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot, a proper shooting and killing challenge. Ding, ding…it’s killing time."

Players may pre-order the retail pack for the Xbox 360 and PC from Amazon.com. Watch for the Borderlands Double Game Add-On Retail Pack on April 6th, 2010 for North America and on April 9th, 2010 internationally.

GameStop has listed a Borderlands "Double Game Add-On Pack" for a February 23, 2010 release. The pack combines both of the current Borderlands downloadable expansions, The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned and Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot. Each one is currently available from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 800 Microsoft Points ($10), as well as for the PC.

Both of the expansions offer plenty of more gameplay time and fun in Borderlands.
