Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 midnight launch events and where to play it first tonight

Tomorrow marks the launch of the next anticipated of Modern Warfare game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Several retailers are hosting midnight launch events for what is sure to be the biggest game launch this year. Below are the details on retail stores that will be open to sell the first copies of Modern Warfare 3, along with details from pre-launch events at GameStop and Walmart stores across North America.

Augmenting your living room sounds like a great thing, especially when it involves $20,000 of audio and visual gear for your gaming setup, along Adam Jensen’s augmented arm (which I’m guessing is this from Square Enix’s E3 2011 display). Square Enix and GameStop have launched the “Deus Ex: Augment Your Room Sweepstakes,” which began today.

First, here is what is at stake:

One Winner will receive a $20,000 prize package:
- One “Deus Ex: Human Machinima Augmented Arm Statue”
- One 3D television
- One home entertainment system
- Surround sound stereo equipment
- One motorized television mount
- Home theater seating
- Three console gaming systems with motion controller systems

Here are the details from Square Enix on how to enter:

Indie Game Challenge 2012 call for entries

Indie Game ChallengeUp and coming game developers, here is a game contest you don’t want to miss. The third annual Indie Game Challenge is now accepting entries for its 2012 game developer contest. Independent game developers are encouraged to register and submit their game concepts and beta game at www.indiegamechallenge.com (before Oct. 4, 2011).

Members of the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences will be judging entries, awarding a total of $250,000 in prizes. Finalists will have the opportunity to break into the game industry and attend the D.I.C.E. Summit in Las Vegas. GameStop.com and GameStop TV will also be showcasing finalist submissions.

Past winners have included the acclaimed LIMBO (XBLA) from Playdead and COGS from Lazy 8 Studios (which is now available on the App Store). See the 2010 winners here, and 2011 winners here.
