Guinness World Records noted a cosplay record set today, specifically on the Millennium Bridge in London. The record officially goes down as the “Largest Gathering of Games Characters’ Guinness World Record on the Millennium Bridge.”
From Guinness World Records: “Sonic the Hedgehog, Yoshi, Lara Croft, Detective Gumshoe and Vincent Valentine were among the eighty character’s breaking the ‘Largest Gathering of Games Characters’ Guinness World Record on the Millennium Bridge, London on Tuesday 18 March!
Dedicated ‘cos-players’ and gamers donned their best costumes to earn a place in the Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition 2009 and make Guinness World Record history.”
While the record was set for 80 cosplayers on the Millennium Bridge, the Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition 2008 notes: “One of the largest cosplay events is Comiket in Japan, which can attract up to 100,000 cosplayes biannually!”
