Fans of Rise Against will be happy to know that three of the band’s tracks will be released on March 12th on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace and PlayStation Network for Guitar Hero: World Tour. However, this time around we will have one of the band’s unreleased singles to be exclusively released on Guitar Hero titled "Death Blossoms". The tracks to be included in the March 12th release include:

Rise Against Track Pack – $5.49 (440 Microsoft Points) or $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points) per track
– "Death Blossoms"
– "Audience of One"
– "Ready to Fall"

But wait, there’s more! Xbox LIVE is also hosting a "Game with Fame" event where you can actually play against Rise Against on March 14th. Just send a friend request to gamertag "GHRiseAgainst1" on the day of the event to participate. The event starts at 7:00 – 9:00PM GMT.

“Guitar Hero continues to be a platform for artists to deliver new music while gaining invaluable exposure,” says Tim Riley, Vice President of Music Affairs for Activision Blizzard. “We are thrilled that Rise Against was willing to compose and record ‘Death Blossoms’ exclusively for our audience offering fans an opportunity to download music heard nowhere else.”

The Rise Against Track Pack will be available March 12th, with the Game with Fame event on March 14th.

Guitar Hero Receives ZZ Top

by GamingBits on February 4, 2009

in General Gaming News Bits

Check one major thing off of many Guitar Hero fan’s wish list as ZZ Top has been confirmed for Guitar Hero: World Tour, along with 2 more tracks.

Southern Rock Track Pack – $5.50 (440 Microsoft Points) or $2.00 (160 Microsoft Points) per track
“Commotion” by Creedence Clearwater Revival
“Gimme All Your Lovin” (Cover) by ZZ Top
“Black betty” (Cover) by ???

It is unfortunate that two of the tracks are cover tracks, and that no artist has been announced on Black Betty (I’m guessing it is ZZ Top) but this track pack is going to be one of the must-buy Track Packs of the year. Get ready to play this pack for both the PSN and XBL on February 5th.
