If you weren’t out in line and maybe while you were sleeping, Call of Duty: Black Ops launched at 12:01 AM today. Likely to be this year’s biggest selling game, Call of Duty: Black Ops is now available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, Wii and DS. Game developer Treyarch delivers this new entry in the leading first-person shooter series. Black Ops invites players into deeper and varied multiplayer experiences and a campaign that takes players behind enemy lines, from different perspectives.
“From the beginning, we focused our entire studio on creating the most immersive Call of Duty experience ever,” said Treyarch Studio Head Mark Lamia. “Treyarch wanted to give Call of Duty fans the ultimate entertainment package this year. Black Ops delivers an epic and cinematic single player experience, an incredibly deep multiplayer offering, and endless hours of co-op fun with Zombies.”
Here are the various game editions now available of Call of Duty: Black Ops:
The November 9, 2010 release date of Call of Duty: Black Ops is nearly upon us, less than one week away. It’s time to start planning on where to pick it up first, and both Activision and Treyarch want to have you prepared. For those of you who want the lead and an early start to Call of Duty: Black Ops, you’re going to want to head out to a midnight store opening on November 8th. The official Call of Duty website has created a handy Midnight Openings store locator, which you can use at www.callofduty.com/locator. The locator tool shows stores nearest to you via zip code, which includes retailers such as GameStop, Best Buy and Walmart. It also provides phone numbers to call and confirm store hours and launch plans.
For those of you who can’t make it out at the crack of 12:01 am on November 9th, there’s still time to pre-order and score some extra savings. Amazon.com is offering $20 video games credit on pre-orders of several editions of Call of Duty: Black Ops. Free release date delivery is also available for Amazon Prime members (hint: sign-up for free trial). A great way to have Call of Duty: Black Ops delivered to you on 11/9. Here are the available pre-orders, with specials listed at the time of this posting:
Tomorrow, March 16th, is the launch day of the highly anticipated God of War III. With only hours left until the game is unleashed for the PlayStation 3, it’s time to plan where to get it first in your area tonight or where to find some last minute pre-order deals online for God of War III. Here you go:
Midnight store openings:
GameStop – More than 3,500 GameStop stores will be open tonight, starting at 10pm. Some GameStop stores will host God of War III events, including a "Choose your Deity" costume contest, trivia challenges and God of War II game challenges. Check here on gamestop.com to see if stores in your area will be at midnight tonight.
Best Buy – About 200 Best Buy stores will be open for the midnight launch of God of War III. See the participating Best Buy stores here.
Last minute pre-order deals:
Amazon – Save $10 off a future video game purchase and get the in-game Apollo skin (unlocked after first playthrough of God of War III).
Best Buy – Save $10 when you purchase God of War III and the God of War Collection.
GameStop – Get the in-game Phantom of Chaos skin (unlocked after first playthrough of God of War III).
Walmart – Get a bonus $10 Walmart.com eGift Card with the purchase of God of War III.
As for finding the $100 God of War III Ultimate Edition, your best bet now is in stores as it looks like most online pre-orders are sold out. At the time of this posting, I only spotted it on one major retailer site, Target (here). If you really want it and can’t find it in stock (and are prepared to pay above the $100 MSRP) you can always try out eBay.
