Last night, an MLG forum user that goes by the name of "ToM MoReLLo" has apparently obtained leaked screenshots of the upcoming Xbox 360 game, Halo: Reach. The new screenshots show quite a bit of information containing what is to be believed the first campaign level and a few new weapons. "ToM MoReLLo" went into detail on how the first few missions were like, but it has been bleeped out by NeoGAF.com to avoid spoilers. Here is some new info which has been posted on NeoGAF:
"Gameplay Details:
New Carbine – new carbine that shoots needles, and explodes when 3 needles are hit.
BR – it is a one shot battle rifle with 12 rounds, pretty powerful and effective long range.
Perks: This is what the HUD looks like. In the bottom left, you can see your squadmates health and names.
Right above the radar shows what perks you are carrying. When I played there were 3 perks-sprinting, cloaking, and halogram.
The sprinting makes you run when you hold LB, cloaking makes you invisible (when you cloak your radar jams and you can’t really hear anything around you). The halogram creates a hologram of yourself, so enemies will shoot at both."
With the mention of perks, new weapons, and a new drop in co-op mode, could these pictures and information be the real thing? Watch for more developments soon!

The Xbox 360 Elite and Pro price drop is now official. See the details here.
Rumors on an Xbox 360 price drop have been floating around the web for some time now due to leaked ad circulars from Target, Best Buy, and Walmart. A price cut appears to be coming very soon for both of the Xbox 360 Pro and Xbox 360 Elite bundles.
The Xbox 360 Elite is rumored to have a price cut of $100, bringing the price right down to $299.99. The Xbox 360 Pro console is being dropped down to $249.99, down $50. What could be the reason of the price cut? How about the release of the PlayStation 3 120 GB (aka PS3 Slim) retailing at $299.99, along with Sony’s PS3 80GB (aka "Fat PS3") models dropping to $299.99?
Along with these leaks is the mention of a whole new Xbox 360 Elite Halo 3 bundle, available exclusively at Canadian retailers. It was also temporarily listed at Canadian retailer The Source. The new bundle retails for $329.99 and includes the following:
- Xbox 360 Elite Console
– Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter
– 1 Black Wireless Controller
– 120 GB Memory Storage
– Xbox LIVE Wired Headset
– Network Ethernet Cable
– 30 day Free Trial of Xbox LIVE Gold Membership
– Xbox LIVE Silver Membership
– Halo 3
This Halo 3 Xbox 360 Elite bundle will be available this Friday, August 28th, exclusively at canadian retailers. Also, I should add that The Source will be having a huge gaming sale starting tomorrow with discounts on every gaming item in store. So if you are in Canada and have a shop by you, check it out.

You may have heard rumblings throughout the internet in the last couple of days of Sony’s rumored slimmed-down version of the PLAYSTATION 3 system. Sony has evolved its game systems to more compact designs since the first PSone was introduced. Since the PS3′s introduction, Sony has been trimming away features from the PLAYSTATION 3, although it looks no less bulky on the outside. It’s pretty much inevitable that the PLAYSTATION 3 will come out in a slimmed down version, but various rumors point to a PS3 Slim system that may be around the corner.
Since this past week, rumors of a PS3 Slim system have really taken off after a photo leak. Here’s a round-up of various rumor reports which fuel a suspected showing of the PS3 Slim soon, possibly at E3.
PlaystationLifestyle.net reports on a rumored hardware design, but no images show up yet.
IGN posted a few images that came from Japanese gaming site GameColumn.
IGN says they’ve heard from a GameStop employee who questioned a Sony representative on the images. At first the Sony rep doesn’t deny it.
Here are some other photos posted on the GameSpot forums and on Neogaf.com, with similarities in the original PS3 production environment noted (pink).
PlayStation 3 manufacturers MainTek request the removal of images from the website that posted the photographs (now removed): “3509 : Alex_Hsieh [url] : 2009/05/14(木) 19:06:22 ID: – | EDIT
We would like to ask you kindly remove the following pages of your pages on your website because the page contains MainTeK Computer Incorporation confidential document and photos, which were illegally released and posted on your website.”
Finally, take a look at the photos below that are posted around the web, but with their Chinese translations. These are rough translations. The translator was only shown the characters/words, not the photographs. I didn’t see the translations posted on another website.
Of course, Sony has denied the PS3 Slim and won’t acknowledge anything on the rumors. Maybe more details will come in just a couple of weeks at E3 2009!

UPDATE 3/31/09: Here’s the official March 31 announcement from Sony, the $99.99 PS2.
Sony’s expected to make some kind of an announcement tomorrow, which has the wheels of the internet churning on what it could be. A $99 PS2? A $299 PS3? A cheaper PSP? Or is it game, PlayStation Home, or Firmware update related? Retailers have been sweetening the deals on the 80GB PLAYSTATION 3 recently, but maybe this is for something else? The $99 PS2 seems like the most concrete thing right now.
Sony hasn’t officially announced anything, but Sony Computer Entertainment America’s Al DeLeon sent out a statement this afternoon to some of the gaming media, which GameSpy posted:
"As we have stated previously, we do not have plans for a PS3 price drop, and any rumors to that effect are false and are the result of speculation. SCEA remains focused on the long-term momentum of PS3. With the industry’s best software lineup this year, combined with our most aggressive marketing campaign to date, we remain confident in our approach and the value we’re delivering with PS3."
Let us know if you hear of any leaks or evidence before tomorrow’s anticipated announcement! Watch for updates here.
