Electronic Arts and BioWare have announced the next chapter in the Mass Effect saga with Mass Effect 3. Turns out, a teaser image released last month was indeed from Mass Effect 3. Watch the first teaser trailer of Mass Effect 3 below!
The Mass Effect 3 teaser tells the story of Earth being invaded by a well coordinated attack in major cities. The trailer showcases A-61 Mantis Gunships and the Collector’s invasion in London, and a plea for Commander Shepard’s return. Just before the release of the trailer last night at Spike’s VGAs, a listing slipped out briefly on the EA Store, which stated:
“Earth is burning. Striking from beyond known space, a race of terrifying machines have begun their destruction of the human race. As Commander Shepard, an Alliance Marine, your only hope for saving mankind is to rally the civilizations of the galaxy and launch one final mission to take back the Earth.”
Yet another great game to lookout for in 2011! Mass Effect 3 is estimated for a holiday 2011 release for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC (as listed on the EA Store leak). PlayStation 3 gamers will get a chance to catch up on the series with the release of Mass Effect 2in January 2011. Pre-orders are already being taken for Mass Effect 3 on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC (here).
