AMY (PSN)

If you have been following coverage from AMY, you already know that this is a horror game to watch for. Lexis Numérique keeps anticipation high, and fans on edge, with a few new pieces of artwork released from the game. See the artwork here, or further below.

The latest artwork from AMY showcases what you will encounter in the game, including metro stations and hospitals as well as soldiers and Father John. The animated model of Father John shown at E3 demonstrated the high level of detail being put into the downloadable game. Father John has his own agenda for taking control of the “viral” outbreak caused by a comet, as well as the soldiers. As Lana, and guided by Amy, you are smack in the middle of it. For more details on AMY, read up on our E3 2011 preview here.

AMY is estimated for a fall 2011 release on the PS3′s PlayStation Network as a downloadable game. Watch for more details on AMY at the official website, www.amy-thegame.com, and the official Facebook page for AMY.

AMY (PSN)

At E3 2011, I was given a nice preview of AMY, an upcoming game for the PlayStation 3′s PSN from Lexis Numérique. Courtesy of Djamil Kemal, from Lexis Numérique, the demo of AMY definitely caught my attention on its refreshing approach to survival horror. Now Djamil has a few more specific details on AMY, along with a new video with Paul Cuisset (Flashback game designer), here on the US PlayStation Blog. The video showcases some of the high level of attention the developers are placing on their characters, as demonstrated with leading character Lana. Technical details on crafting the game’s environment are also demonstrated. There is plenty of game developer tech lingo for those interested in that. Watch the new video from AMY below. Make sure to read Djamil’s post here on the PlayStation Blog, which explains much more of the storyline and the relationship between Amy and Lana.

Currently, AMY is estimated for a summer 2011 release on the PlayStation Network. Lexis Numérique is focused on creating a fine-tuned survival horror experience at a very reasonable PSN price. Keep a lookout for more details on AMY at the official website, www.amy-thegame.com, and the official Facebook page for AMY.

UFC Undisputed 3 (PS3, Xbox 360)

I’ve been a fan of the UFC games since UFC Undisputed 2009 was originally released on the Xbox 360. The striking and grappling systems offered a great amount of flexibility, but the complex gameplay was intimidating for most players. THQ looks to change this with UFC Undisputed 3.

My closed-door preview of UFC Undisputed 3 began with the classic introduction used at all UFC events. Announcer Mike Goldberg then took viewers on a tour of the new features to be included. The camera is now set much closer to the action to offer a better view. Fighter entrances will now also be included instead of jumping directly into fights like in previous incarnations. Gamers will also be able to customize the entrance of their created fighter.

While the new camera presents a more realistic and visceral viewpoint for players, the most noticeable change to UFC Undisputed 3 is the new Amateur control scheme for transitions. Players will now be able to perform minor and major transitions when on the ground by flicking up or down on the control stick. Transitions may now be simpler, but there will be less options for movement direction and position to a player using the Amateur control scheme. Advanced players can still use the original control scheme to gain the upper hand on their opponents. Novice fighters will also be able to activate an in-game help system. While fighting, prompts will pop up on-screen to explain how to perform moves and transitions.

UFC Undisputed 3 (PS3, Xbox 360)Submissions will now also be easier to perform with the inclusion of a submission mini game. When someone initiates a submission, an octagon pops up on the screen with red and blue areas corresponding to the corner colors of the fighters. Using the right stick, the attacking fighter must cover the color of the defending fighter. With this system, it will be much easier to see why a fighter has successfully completed or escaped from a submission.

The final addition to UFC Undisputed 3 is the Pride Fighting Championship Mode. In this mode, fighters square off in the classic Pride FC ring instead of the Octagon. Pride rules are also included, so brutal knees and soccer kicks will now be legal.

Players can find UFC Undisputed 3 on store shelves in January 2012. For more details, visit www.ufcundisputed.com.
