Flipper is a recently released DSiWare puzzle platform game for the Nintendo DSi. Controlling your character throughout the colorful 3D pixel puzzle world, you’ll have to use different power-ups to reach your goldfish, Flipper. The power-ups let you build a path, or destroy it, to get to Flipper. The challenge comes in making use of the limited power-ups in each level. The gameplay is simple, yet challenging, and will appeal to gamers old school and new school. Speaking of challenges…
There’s a pretty cool paperfolding contest going on from the developers of Flipper, Goodbye Galaxy Games, which you can read about here. You could win a 2000 DSi Points Card (for downloading Flipper of course!) and even the game box from Flipper, great to put it on your gaming shelf and remind you of the cool little game you have on your DSi. All you have to do to enter is print and fold a Flipper papercraft and send it in. Make sure you read the full details here (and get the Flipper papercraft download!). Enter before the Friday, March 20th deadline.
Flipper is available for the DSi from the DSi Shop for 500 Dsi Points ($5). Watch for my review of Flipper coming soon! Flipper comes from Goodbye Galaxy Games and Xform.

The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom
Available for Xbox 360 (XBLA)
Game Developer: The Odd Gentlemen
Game Publisher: 2K Play
Release Date: February 17, 2010
Official website: www.winterbottomgame.com
Review Summary:
The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom gives players the task of collecting pies. This very catchy platforming game will prove to be challenging for those who like puzzle games. There are 50 levels to complete. You must make clones of yourself, use see-saws, flip switches, and even bat yourself to the pies to complete the level. The game is fairly short, which can be finished in about 3 to 4 hours. The difficulty curve can be quite intense, however. From the first 20 levels being ridiculously easy to the next 30 levels being very challenging. If you like games that offer a time-bending challenge, like Braid, you may want to consider purchasing The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom.

Gyromancer
Available for Xbox 360 (XBLA) and PC (Steam)
Game Developer: Square Enix Studios and PopCap Games
Game Publisher: Square Enix Studios
Release Date: November 18, 2009
Official Website: dlgames.square-enix.com
Review Summary:
Gyromancer rolls up addictive puzzle gameplay with beautiful fantasy artwork and a memorable score into one game. The difficulty curve spikes up quick but if you’re persistent, you’ll enjoy this puzzle game while getting wrapped into a unique, if somewhat convoluted, fantasy story. Gyromancer is definitely more puzzle than RPG, but there’s stuff in there that will appeal to gamers of both genres.
