GAMEVIL put themselves on the iOS gaming map with their breakout hit Zenonia, and today builds upon it with the latest game in the series, Zenonia 3: The Midgard Story. Now available for $4.99 from the App Store for the iPhone and iPod touch, Zenonia 3: The Midgard Story continues the RPG adventure in single-player as well as co-op and player versus player gameplay modes.

Details on Zenonia 3, from GAMEVIL:
“In ZENONIA 3, players will guide Chael through a fateful journey in search for his destiny and the truth about his mysterious father, Regret. The vast realm of Midgard spans well over 200 maps and a hundred quests, from fiery depths to the open skies populated by creatures and legendary monsters. Four distinct melee and ranged character classes each have 13 active skills and 9 passive skills in addition to combos, and the introduction of a new Fairy helper-system adds another layer of leveling strategy. Streamlined inventory and item management lets players focus on the action. Also, 48 new Game Center achievements and in-game titles give special stat boosts and a new Execution Room Mode allows for single or asynchronous co-op play for loot, in addition to the returning online PvP arena.”

Neverwinter from Atari and Cryptic Studios

Videogame publisher Atari has aligned themselves with Cryptic Studios, makers of City of Heroes, Champions Online and Star Trek Online, to announce the upcoming release of Neverwinter for PC. The plot for Neverwinter is inspired by an upcoming book trilogy by famed author R.A. Salvatore, within the mythos of Wizards of the Coast’s Dungeons and Dragons realm.

“We’ve been working closely with Wizards of the Coast and R.A. Salvatore to create an authentic D&D adventure filled with compelling fiction and exciting gameplay.”  Said Jack Emmert, COO of Cryptic Studios.

The game will feature the five famed classes from D&D for players to create and customize their characters.  Alongside friends via online play or CPU controlled players, characters are then organized into five person co-op groups. Neverwinter will also allow players the liberty to generate their own content and storylines via the user-friendly Forge system.

Neverwinter is slated to be a multi-platform event, with it’s release in Q4 of 2011.  The Neverwinter saga will include the PC game along with a tabletop game from Wizards of the Coast.  New York Times bestselling author, R.A. Salvatore shall release book one of the trilogy, Gauntlgrym on October 5th of this year. The novel previews the lore from the PC game and details the events that lead up to this highly anticipated PC gaming experience. To learn more about the game, visit: www.PlayNeverwinter.com.

Square Enix’s new iPhone and iPod touch exclusive RPG Chaos Rings may be coming to the iPad soon. Following a successful launch week, hitting the number one spot in Top Grossing iPhone Games, developers at Media.Vision tested out Chaos Rings on the iPad.

Takehiro Ando, Producer of Chaos Rings, said the following on the Square Enix DLG Facebook page: "I was moved to try CHAOS RINGS HD on iPad. Creators in Media Vision are so nice and clever that actually the game launched and moved! It was so exciting and impressive, especially battle scenes! Of course it needs many revising and adjustments, but now I seriously think CHAOS RINGS HD is quite a good idea, if CHAOS RINGS is appreciated."

It’s far to early to tell if the Chaos Rings HD iPad game will be an free upgrade to the iPhone/iPod touch release, or if additional content or features will be added for a completely separate purchase. Hopefully Square Enix follows what Konami did with Metal Gear Solid Touch, offering the HD iPad version as a free upgrade (more on that here).

Chaos Rings is currently available here from the App Store for $12.99. See more details on Chaos Rings here at the official website.
