The latest artwork from AMY showcases what you will encounter in the game, including metro stations and hospitals as well as soldiers and Father John. Burnout Crash (XBLA, PSN)

The Burnout racing series returns with a completely new perspective on the racing and destruction mayhem. EA has announced Burnout Crash, coming from Burnout developer Criterion Games. Burnout Crash will be a downloadable PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Arcade game, estimated for release this fall. As the name suggests, Burnout Crash focuses on the fun Crash Mode seen in previous Burnout games. The first few screenshots show how Criterion Games have presented this Burnout game in an all-new top-down view. Players must try to create the biggest car wrecks possible with destructive combos. Burnout Crash even incorporates the Autolog feature seen in other EA racing games, allowing players to compete against each other for the most destructive outcomes.

Burnout CRASH! is a crazy mix of pinball and game shows,” said Richard Franke, Creative Director, Burnout CRASH! “We’ve evolved the core gameplay which everyone loved about Crash Mode, and expanded the whole experience using music, style and Autolog to create what we feel is the most mindless fun you can have on any gaming platform.”

The XBLA release of Burnout Crash will be Kinect enabled, which allows “two teams use gestural controls to play on one television in a party battle,” according to EA’s press release. Sounds like Burnout Crash will make for fun times online or at home with friends. Keep a lookout for more details from Criterion Games (criteriongames.com).

The House of the Dead: OVERKILL - Extended Cut (PS3 - PlayStation move)

The House of the Dead: OVERKILL - Extended Cut (PS3 - PlayStation move)SEGA has announced its plans to bring the over-the-top terror shooter, The House of the Dead Overkill, to a new audience. PlayStation 3 gamers will soon get to experience the madness in The House of the Dead: OVERKILL – Extended Cut. Originally exclusive to the Nintendo Wii platform, SEGA is beefing up the B-Movie horror hilarity on the PS3. This Extended Cut will include PlayStation Move shooter support, HD graphics and 3D compatible display. In addition to these gameplay updates for the PS3, players of the original Wii game will want to return to experience two new chapters in the Extended Cut.

“The House of the Dead: OVERKILL – Extended Cut for the PlayStation 3 system will send players to the shrieking mad heart of mutant mayhem. This time we went further, faster and bloodier than before. We extended everything, even the title.” -said Gary Knight of SEGA.

See the first released screenshots from The House of the Dead: OVERKILL – Extended Cut below (or here in fullscreen). I’m still scarred from what may have been the most disturbing ending scene to a game ever. Still, I’m looking forward to playing House of the Dead: OVERKILL – Extended Cut on the PS3. It’s great that SEGA is bringing the game back in this new platform release. House of the Dead: OVERKILL is a gem that definitely deserved a larger mature audience than it received on the Wii. Get your PlayStation Move guns ready, it’s going to be one crazy on-rails shooting ride.

Keep a lookout for our GamingBits coverage on The House of the Dead: OVERKILL – Extended Cut from E3 2011. The House of the Dead: OVERKILL – Extended Cut will be available on October 25, 2011 in North America and on October 28, 2011 in Europe.
