A new LEGO Star Wars game is out today, and best of all it’s free and can be played online now. LEGO Star Wars: The Quest for R2-D2 has been created by game developer Three Melons for LEGO. It’s a free to play online web game. A version of it was released earlier in May this year, but today’s release features much more. It feels far from being just a browser based game. Using Flash and the free Unity Web Player plug-in, you can really enjoy this LEGO game. You can play it full screen without any other intrusions on your desktop or display. You’re also playing with, or against, a world of players using a global scoring system.

To save your score, get achievements, and participate in the galactic conquest, you’ll need to create a LEGO ID. If you don’t have one, you will be guided through the steps on quickly setting it up. You’ll want to register to get on the leaderboards as well! You can select from two characters to begin with, which include Anakin Skywalker (Republicans) and Asajj Ventress (Separatists). Finding Platinum Bricks during gameplay allows you to upgrade your character.

LEGO Star Wars: The Quest for R2-D2 keeps track of how many Republicans and how many Separatists have completed the missions. Republicans are currently in the lead, so catch up Separatists! There’s a limited time to participate in the battles, so check it out soon and fight for your side. Whether you are part of the Republicans or Separatists, get playing now and determine the fate of the galaxy. It’s a must play and won’t cost you a cent.

A new LEGO Star Wars game is coming out, but it won’t be on gaming systems. The good news is it will be free and the first playable demo is online now. It’s LEGO Star Wars: The Quest for R2-D2 and you can play it now here. You’ll play as Anakin Skywalker, with a Lightsaber and Force powers at your disposal to take down Battle Droids.

About LEGO Star Wars: The Quest for R2-D2, from developer Three Melons:
“It begins when, lost in space, R2-D2 starts emitting a distress call without knowing that his signal contains the blueprints to build a powerful secret starship. Whoever can amplify that signal will get both the droid location and this unique new weapon! Players can choose to join either side of the Clone Wars conflict and fight their way to victory. If you’re wondering if Anakin Skywalker, Obi Wan Kenobi and Count Dooku will be in it, the answer is yes! You’ll also get to show off your light saber skills.

The full game will consist of fifteen levels to be released throughout the year, which will include an asynchronous multiplayer option and a few other special features….So stay tuned!!!”

Watch for the full version later this year. LEGO Star Wars: The Quest for R2-D2 is coming from game developer Three Melons, who also created the online game for LEGO Agents. Go try it out for yourself here. We’re already itching to play more!

LEGO Agents Game Launches

in General Gaming News Bits

Get ready for some more LEGO-fied gaming fun! If you’re a fan of any of the LEGO games such as LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Indiana Jones or (my favorite) LEGO Batman, here’s another LEGO game you’ll want to check out: LEGO Agents. The best part is it’s free and playable online, right now. The game was created by game developers Three Melons, using what is called “Daiquiri” technology, which works with Flash and Silverlight.

The LEGO Agents game will introduce you to the line of LEGO Agents. It’s presented in a neat little package of 5 missions, with a comic style intro and outro for each. Gameplay involves 3D perspective vehicle chases & races, and calls for some quick brick building on some levels. LEGO maniacs, see if you can score on the leaderboards.
