Today XSEED Games announced that their upcoming Ys I & II Chronicles PSP game will include a bonus soundtrack CD. Not just any soundtrack CD, but a “Hair Metal” soundtrack CD. This will be limited to the launch batch of the game, which will include an “’80s themed Hair Metal Pack.”
Here is what XSEED Games had to say on the more metal launch edition of Ys I & II Chronicles:
“The “Hair Metal Pack” celebrates the origins of Falcom’s legendary in-house band, the jdk Band, commemorating when they were unleashed upon the world with the launch of the original Ys in 1987. Ys I & II Chronicles will be released with a bonus music CD which includes over 20 select tracks from the remastered soundtracks of Ys and Ys II.”

XSEED Games today announced Ys Seven has gone gold (out for production) for the PlayStation Portable. The PSP exclusive game is a treat for RPG players and fans of the long running Ys series, which has been developed specifically for the PlayStation Portable platform. The release date for Ys Seven has been confirmed for August 17, 2010. PSPgo gamers will be able to purchase and download Ys Seven from the PlayStation Store on August 17th. XSEED Games is also offering a Ys Seven Collector’s Edition (pre-order here), which packs in the following items:
- Ys Seven PSP UMD game
- Game soundtrack CD featuring more than 20 songs
- 60-page art book showcasing artwork from Ys Seven, Ys: The Oath in Felghana, and Ys I & II Chronicles

XSEED Games has just released Lunar: Silver Star Harmony for the PlayStation Portable. The classic PlayStation RPG is revamped on the PSP platform with new graphics, soundtrack, voiceovers and quests. Lunar: Silver Star Harmony is available in a standard edition ($29.99) and Premium Edition ($39.99).

A demo of Lunar: Silver Star Harmony is available from the PlayStation Network. If you have already played the demo or you’re considering picking up Lunar: Silver Star Harmony, the demo clear data will give you bonus starting equipment in the full version of the game.
A playable demo for Lunar: Silver Star Harmony was recently released for the PlayStation Portable. You can download it from the PSP’s PlayStation Network, which will take about 210MB of memory. In the demo, you’ll get to see the enhanced graphics, animated cutscenes and play through a few battles in the RPG classic. Lunar: Silver Star Harmony is a refreshing return to the role-playing game, which also includes some additions to the story.
As a bonus for completing your first quest in the demo, you’ll get some bonus equipment for use in the full game. Upon completing the demo’s quest, you can create a save file that will store the "demo clear data." The game doesn’t say what the items are. Game publisher XSEED Games has only hinted that it is "bonus starting equipment."
Lunar: Silver Star Harmony will be available in a standard edition UMD package for $29.99 (pre-order here) or as a Limited Edition for $39.99 (pre-order here). The Limited Edition includes a CD soundtrack and a set of 13 “bromide” collector cards.
Lunar role-playing games have been known for their premium packaging. Game publisher XSEED Games is continuing the tradition for fans with the Lunar: Silver Star Harmony Limited Edition for the PSP.
