Microsoft has let us know that an anime, developed by 343 Industries, called Halo Legends is in the works. This anime series will incorporate the Halo universe and move into a whole new medium. No word from Microsoft or the creators about the timeframe or setting of Halo Legends, but with amazing people working on this, who knows where it is going. Some of the people involved have worked on “The Animatrix,” “Cowboy Bebop,” “Fullmetal Alchemist,” “Ghost in the Shell,” “Dragon Ball” and more.

Xbox LIVE users will get a sneak peak at the Halo Legends anime via Microsoft’s online service. A new channel, Halo Waypoint, will be launching in the fall on Xbox LIVE where you can find news surrounding the Halo franchise, from gaming to shows and more. It also will provide a new challenge for “Halo” gamers with a career system and player rankings tied to both in-game and out-of-game accomplishments related to “Halo.” In addition to the limited, early episode premieres, Halo Waypoint will debut several behind-the-scenes videos that chronicle the making of Halo Legends. I can’t wait to hear about more Halo, I just can’t get enough of the franchise, more books, more games, more awesome.

The first trailer for Halo Legends will be on the next episode of GameTrailers TV airing on Spike TV this Thursday night. Can’t wait!
