Pirates of the Flying Fortress is an upcoming expansion from Two Worlds II, which is set to arrive in just a few months. At E3 2011, I had a preview look of Pirates of the Flying Fortress with TopWare Interactive.
This Two Worlds II expansion goes beyond what players typically get in DLC nowadays. Many hours of gameplay (about 10 hours total, instead of the usual <5 hours), new multiplayer gameplay, a 25% expansion of the world map, and plenty of additional quests and items. Also newly available in this expansion is some incredible looking horse armor. You haven’t seen horse armor like this. New and “improved horse mechanics” are going to be included as well. I was also given a peek of a new cemetery, a great looking environment that is packed with some very unique zombies (I won’t spoil the surprise!).
The level of detail that developer Reality Pump Studios has put into the pirates, armor and new environments looks great. See for yourself in several of the new screenshots from Pirates of the Flying Fortress below, or here in fullscreen. Oh, and seeing the Flying Fortress itself in the game is quite a site. After seeing the preview, I’m very much looking forward to this next addition. And if you have yet to pick up Two Worlds II, read on for a tempting incentive!
Pirates of the Flying Fortress will be available for download in October 2011 (according to the latest press release announcement from TopWare Interactive). See more details on the official Pirates of the Flying Fortress website at potff.twoworlds2.com.
Shortly after the release of Pirates of the Flying Fortress, or possibly alongside of it, a Two Worlds II Game of the Year Edition will be released. The attention and detail in the packaging sounds lush, so even hardcore fans of Two Worlds II may want to upgrade to this loot edition. Here is what will be included in the Two Worlds II Game of the Year Edition (at $69.99 MSRP for Xbox 360 and PS3, $49.99 MSRP for PC and Mac):
- Velvet box (in royal red or black), accented with metal corners and Two Worlds II metal logo
- Two Worlds II game disc with all expansion contents (like Pirates of the Flying Fortress)
- World map and exclusive in-game item
- Bonus disc, with additional extended soundtrack
- Pirate Head Pin
