Avatar Pets have arrived on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace today. You’ll be able to give your Xbox 360 Avatar a virtual companion. Choose a pet of your choice for 240 Microsoft Points ($3) each. Here are the Avatar Pets currently available on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace (click to see Avatar Pet):

A special Avatar Pet will be available soon, for free. If you remember the Final Fantasy XIII Twitter contest that was being re-tweeted, it was to unlock a free Xbox LIVE Avatar item. The Tweet Progress has been completed and the Avatar item has been revealed as Final Fantasy Chocobo Avatar. A release date of the Chocobo Avatar hasn’t been announced, but it is expected to arrive in December 2009. To make sure you get yours, register here at xbox.com.
