Economic recession has obviously put the brakes on the gaming industry but miraculous sales explosions have been known to happen, with Xbox LIVE Arcade being the most recent case. According to research conducted by Forecasting & Analyzing Digital Entertainment, LLC (FADE) Xbox LIVE Arcade has sold an impressive amount of content. The service has shown a 36% increase in sales this June over the same time last year. Overall, that puts Xbox LIVE Arcade at about $46 million in revenue for the first half of the year. FADE is also putting out some interesting projections, as the firm says that XBLA sales could reach $130 to $140 million by the end of the year due to hardware sales and a strong holiday lineup.
Top selling games on Xbox Live Arcade include Toy Soldiers, Trials HD, Castle Crashers and Battlefield 1943.
